Modern Haggadot

Masters of Haggadah illustrations in the 20th and 21st centuries are among the most outstanding Jewish artists of the time. Their works demonstrate multitudes of approaches to the interpretation of this Passover text. In the more contemporary Haggadot, traditional woodcuts of the early centuries tend to give way way to more experimental and unusual visions of the text. Artistic trends and catastrophic events of the period reinforce the significance of the ideas of liberation.
