Sarah Margaret Fuller Ossoli (1810–1850)
Early American feminist Margaret Fuller was a key member of the Transcendentalist movement; she founded and edited their magazine, The Dial. Fuller’s landmark book Woman in the Nineteenth Century—one of the first major feminist works in the United States—examined women’s role in society and argued for their political and intellectual equality.
