The Liberty Bell
The Liberty Bell is a gift book—a book meant to be exchanged between friends—that was published by "friends of freedom" for a fundraising sale at the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Fair from 1839 to 1846 and the National Anti-Slavery Bazaar from 1847 to 1858. This copy was presented by white abolitionist Anne Warren Weston to the Black abolitionist and publisher of The North Star William C. Nell.
